Abstract

The current study demonstrates scientific coherence with the theoretical literature and previous studies regarding the significance of implementing modern managerial methods within contemporary institutions, including government-funded higher education institutions. One of the most crucial aspects is the implementation of administrative empowerment in conjunction with transformational leadership to enhance the performance of faculty members.

The aim of the current study was to investigate the impact of administrative empowerment and transformative leadership on the performance of faculty members in Palestinian government universities. The researchers employed a descriptive-analytical methodology to conduct the study, using a questionnaire to collect field data from the targeted study population, which consisted of faculty members from Palestine Technical University - Kadoorie and Al-Istiqlal University, for a total of (498) individuals. The questionnaires were distributed among the participants, with a total of (202) questionnaires retrieved. After excluding (6) questionnaires as outliers, (196) questionnaires were subjected to statistical analysis.

The study found a statistically significant positive impact of both administrative empowerment and transformative leadership on the academic staff's performance. The researchers recommended that academic leaders in government universities effectively communicate the university's vision to all faculty members and modify the existing incentive and reward systems. Additionally, they emphasized the importance of granting faculty members greater decision-making authority and autonomy within their work domains, as well as addressing their personal needs.
