Abstract

This research paper aims to study the role of faculty members in raising students' awareness of sustainable development topics, with a specific focus on the environmental dimension as one of the key aspects of sustainable development ; The study, conducted on a sample of students from the Department of Business Administration at King Khalid University, confirmed that the role of faculty members in raising students' awareness of this dimension is limited, and the same applies to the university as a whole. As for the actual practice of the environmental dimension by students in their daily lives, it was found to be moderate. The regression results also confirmed that the role of faculty members has a positive and statistically significant impact on students' actual practice of this dimension in their daily lives, as well as for the university. The Stepwise method indicated that the university has a more effective and statistically significant impact compared to the teaching staff. the study presented a set of recommendations that would enhance and improve the role of faculty members and the university as a whole in raising students' awareness of the environmental dimension as a fundamental pillar for achieving comprehensive environmental sustainability in the vision of Saudi Arabia 2030.
